1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Fiveboxes you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

Fiveboxes is a vocabulary study app built on the Leitner box system. We work hard to keep it fast and available, but like any small service it may occasionally be down for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

One commitment we make in writing: reviewing cards you have added will never be moved behind a paywall.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Fiveboxes.
• Provide a real email address — it is how we verify your account and how you recover it.
• Keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Free plan and Lifetime plan

The free plan currently includes unlimited studying with up to 3 decks, 100 cards and 1 starter deck clone. We may adjust free-plan limits over time, but never the commitment in section 2.

The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that unlocks unlimited decks and cards, all starter decks, CSV import, full statistics history, and all future premium features. Checkout and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; the exact price — including any founder or early-bird discount — is always the one shown at checkout.

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the service, for as long as we operate it. If we ever have to shut Fiveboxes down, we will give you at least 30 days notice and make sure you can export all of your data.

5. Refunds

The Lifetime plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Email us within 30 days of purchase and you get a full refund, no questions asked.

6. Your content

The decks and cards you create belong to you. You grant us only the license we need to store, process and display them back to you — nothing more. You can export everything as CSV at any time, on every plan.

You are responsible for what you upload. Do not upload content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

7. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to breach, probe or overload the service.
• Do not scrape other users' data or create accounts by automated means.
• Do not resell, sublicense or misrepresent the service as your own.

8. Termination

You can stop using Fiveboxes at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we ever terminate your account for any reason other than a violation, we will give you the chance to export your data first, and refund a Lifetime purchase made in the previous 12 months.

9. Disclaimers

Fiveboxes is provided "as is". Spaced repetition is well-supported by research, but we cannot guarantee specific learning outcomes or exam results — that part is on you and your five minutes a day.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, except where the consumer-protection law of your own country necessarily applies. Questions: [email protected].
